A fine example of retrofitting activities on behalf of a more livable and vibrant city.  The synergy among City Engineers and City Officials and Councilmen, allowed us to design and supervise many projects aimed towards improving life quality and  a better accesibility to the shopping and service center of the city.

The overall strategic plan set the stage for many projects of traffic calming, new parking policy, overall city traffic scheme, bottlenecks resolution, a new bike path network, pedestrian areas and new treatment of areas close to the Subway stations.

At present, work is being continued on travel substitution and better accesibility through the use of intelligent use of telecoms. In particular, work is under development to create a new Web Site with the very ambitious goal of moving many of Getxo's official, commercial and service activities into electronic form, thanks to new partnerships with different actors and interests.

New Service Reorganization of the bus service following a detailed field survey on patronage and commercial speeds per link and time of day for every bus line. Network modeled with MinUTP, to analyze impact on patronage of several municipal policies regarding road network, parking, selective use of bus priority, traffic light actuation, etc. Critical areas analyzed by micro-simulation to ascertain the validity of the recommendations.
