CURRENT PROJECTS |
|
As a example of our current focus, we can mention the following projects on which we are currently working, or have just completed,
- Mobility Plan for the town of Trapaga in Bizkaia.Plan de Movilidad del Valle de Trapaga/Trapagaran
- Operating Improvements for Bilbao urban bus network
- New Traffic Scheme for the Union Square area in Somerville, MA, through a large microscopic traffic network, including options for the de-elevation of the McCarthy Viaduct (as a signalized split roundabout) to redesign the future catchment area of the planned station of the Green Line Extension
- Analyses of the substitution of the current Sabino Arana highway ramps in Bilbao by a new underground interchange in Basurto, including the construction stages.
- Preliminary demand estimates of the High Speed Rail in the Basque Country as a Super Metro linkiing the three Basque capitals
- New Transit proposals for the Donostialdea metropolitan area in San Sebastian by upgrading the EuskoTren narrow gauge commuter rail, by introducing a new LRT plus a Train Tram option, thus dramatically increasing the catchment area of the rail system, thus paving the way to new parking and city making policies in the area
- Toll forecasts for the Gipuzkoa Province thruway system, including the new bypass in the capital. A demand model using a logit path-choice assignment, was calibrated for 2004 and 2007 and validated for 1986. Scenario planning was introduced to test the robustness of the financial streams for 2015, 2025 and 2035, considering the discounts contemplated for local residents based on frequency of use, thus leading to consider a total of seven user types involving automobiles and two categories of heavy vehicles
- External and Social Costs for the Basque Country, including new policy proposals
- New operating plan for Bizkaibus, the Bizkaia bus system, in response to the expansion of Bilbao's Metro system, focusing on new emerging niche markets
- Analyses of a shadow price scheme to manage traffic distribution between a non toll and a toll road, N-124 and A-124, in order to avoid new road investments given the excess capacity of the toll road.
- Demand estimates of new road improvements in Bizkaia ( Urberuaga-Berriatua, Gerediaga-Elorrio, and the new Ermua bypass) to test the feasibility of a shadow price scheme, including future scenarios for 2015, 2025 and 2035. These were approached through Scenario Planning to incorporate the pattern breaks associated to the Basque aging population, the future Climate Change policies and economic uncertainty.
- Sustainable Mobility Plan 2010-2015 for the City of Bilbao
- Strategic Vision for Bilbobus
- Mobility Plans for Durango and Hondarribia
- Traffic Impact Study of opening to traffic the currently closed ramp of Juan de Garai in the A-8 access to Bilbao
- New sustainable freight distribution scheme in Tolosa Old Clity
